1st meet

Introduction:
Downloaded the folders for the course from the portal iLearn. I read through the SIM 1 and did the exercises.

What is research? (the definition)
The systematic application of scientific and disciplined inquiry approach to the study of prblems
Why carry out research?
To solve problem / to study theory
Types of approaches. Qualitative & quantitative
Terminologies: A lot… noted down in my note bk.
e.g. 5 characteristics of research
systematic, logical, empirical, reductive, replicable.

Week 2

2nd meet Problem definition: narrow it down to specific issues:
a) Broad , general area
b) Begin with broad questions
c) Narrow down, focus to operationalise
d) Observe
e) Analysis data
f) Reach conclusion
g) Generalize
